Every project begins with a conversation. If you are local, we meet face-to-face. For those at a distance, Skype or the telephone becomes our venue. We will spend an hour
- discussing your website needs and goals
- answering any questions you have about the design process
Our initial meeting will allow me to better understand you, your target audience, and what you need from your website.
The Proposal
After our conversation I will send you a detailed proposal:
- A description of what you need from me
- A list of the things I will need from you
- Target dates and deadlines
- Either an estimate or a fixed cost for the project, depending upon our conversation.
Once we agree on all the details, you sign the proposal and send it back with a deposit. Next step: Design.
Design
First on paper, then on the screen you will have access to every stage of the design.
- Colors
- Images, graphics, buttons, icons
- Page structure
- Navigation
Honest and constructive feedback throughout the revision process will lead us to your final design. I'll need your logo and/or any other site-wide images you wish to include before we begin.
Content is King (or Queen)
Once the design is finished, we turn to individual pages. You provide the images, media, text, and information - I create accurately coded pages on the test site for you to preview and review.
I provide guidelines and information to help you create "web-ready" images and text content. For an additional fee, I will also do copywriting or text and image editing.
Going Live
The site is uploaded to your domain, every link is checked and every script put through its paces. The search engines have been told where to find you and your pages are tagged to make it easy for them to index you. You send me your final payment.
I'll check back in 3-6 weeks to adjust the tags or make any needed tweaks, but the site is now all yours. Of course, I'm available if you have any questions or problems down the road.
You are the expert in your website's content. I understand design and code. When we combine your knowledge with my skills, the result will be a website you will be proud to call home.
